JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Manager Level is responsible for proactively soliciting, establishing, and nurturing relationships with accounts across various market segments. This role involves prospecting, developing, and closing sales opportunities within an assigned territory to drive hotel revenue growt

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a to hotel or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree; or a 2-year degree and 1 or more year of related experience

• Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)

• Excellent communication skills.

• Proficiency in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheet software, and word processing programs is essential.

• Previous experience in similar position highly preferred.


FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Actively participate in daily meetings to stay informed of team goals and departmental priorities.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.

• Master company sales policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensure adherence to these guidelines by the sales team.

• Consistently meet or exceed established sales targets and goals.

• Operate within the designated sales expense budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

• Participate in M.O.D. and Saturday office coverage as scheduled.

• Initiate and follow up on new business leads to build and expand the client base.

• Maintain a proactive and ongoing sales solicitation program, ensuring consistent engagement with both current and potential clients.

• Monitor and analyze performance trends for top accounts, identifying areas for growth and improvement.

• Conduct regular outreach to existing accounts according to the Account Coverage Program’s established timelines.

• Achieve set sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales.

• Invite potential clients to the hotel for site inspections, lunches, tours, and entertainment events to showcase the property.

• Assist in the execution of special promotions, such as WynClub events, sales blitzes, and other direct sales campaigns.

• Prepare and submit reports promptly and accurately, ensuring timely communication of sales activity.

• Maintain an in-depth understanding of all sales policies and techniques, with a focus on maximizing occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR).

• Conduct professional site inspections, providing potential clients with a thorough overview of the hotel’s features and benefits.

• Utilize the hotel’s computerized sales management system for reporting, account management, business tracking, and space blocking.

• Regularly meet and greet onsite contacts to build rapport and strengthen relationships.

• Adhere to Prime Selling Time (PST) guidelines to optimize sales outreach efforts.

• Cultivate new networking opportunities by actively participating in local community and industry associations, events, and activities.

• Collaborate with the Director of Sales to review meeting planner feedback and ensure follow-up on any issues or concerns.

• Engage in client entertainment to build strong, long-term business relationships.

• Manage inquiries as part of the Inquiry Day Program to generate new business opportunities


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extended work hours may be required occasionally.

• Light physical work: occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force, and frequent or constant exertion of up to 10 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
