The Software Release Coordinator plans and manages software releases, obtains required approvals, and oversees UAT testing activities. This role partners with development, QA, operations, executive stakeholders, and the Change Control Board to support timely, high-quality releases. The coordinator maintains release documentation, manages UAT-related release risks, and communicates issues to support smooth execution.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Coordinate Releases: Plan, schedule, and oversee software releases, including QA/UAT handoffs and release phases.
โ€ข Obtain Approvals: Obtain executive and Change Control Board approval for software releases.
โ€ข Collaborate with Teams: Coordinate with development teams, departments, and Technical Product Managers to align dates, handoffs, and UAT sign-off.
โ€ข Maintain Documentation: Keep detailed records of release processes and related release activities.
โ€ข Ensure Quality: Confirm software releases meet required quality standards.
โ€ข Manage Risk: Identify, communicate, and help mitigate release risks.
โ€ข Communicate Status: Facilitate clear communication across teams and stakeholders.
โ€ข Improve Processes: Support release process improvements that enhance execution, efficiency, and quality.
โ€ข Support Releases: Provide release support and help troubleshoot issues.
โ€ข Support Governance: Track phase-gate completion, update ADO DevOps data, notify leadership of risks, and support sprint planning activities.
Qualifications:
โ€ข Education: A relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
โ€ข Experience: Experience with release management tools and a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
โ€ข Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with release management, configuration management, and continuous integration/delivery processes.
