We are looking for a highly skilled Release Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will manage and automate the software release process, ensuring high-quality deployments and seamless delivery through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Additionally, you will play a critical role in change management and incident management, ensuring that releases are carefully planned, communicated, and executed without disruption to the production environment.
As part of a cross-functional team, you'll use Jenkins, version control systems, and other automation tools to support a reliable, scalable, and efficient deployment pipeline, while also working to maintain best practices in release management, incident resolution, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Release Management:
  • Release Planning and Execution:
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage software releases from development to production, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development and Maintenance:
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or other tools (e.g., GitLab CI, CircleCI) for building, testing, and deploying software across multiple environments (development, staging, production).
  • Version Control and Build Systems:
  • Ensure integration and proper use of version control systems such as Git. Develop and maintain build processes to ensure reproducibility and reliability of software deployments.
  • Automation & Scripting:
  • Automate the software build, test, and deployment processes. Write and maintain automation scripts using tools like Shell, Python, Groovy, or other appropriate technologies.

Change Management:
  • Change Control:
  • Manage and document changes to software and infrastructure, ensuring that all changes follow formal change management procedures. Track and maintain change requests and impact assessments in line with internal policies.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
  • Collaborate with teams to assess potential risks associated with new releases, ensure proper testing is in place, and work to mitigate any risks before deployment.
  • Approval Process:
  • Oversee the approval process for changes and releases, ensuring proper review, authorization, and documentation of all changes.

Incident Management:
  • Incident Resolution & Escalation:
  • Respond to incidents during or after deployments, identifying and resolving issues quickly to minimize downtime. Work with operations and development teams to investigate root causes of incidents.
  • Post-Incident Analysis:
  • Conduct post-incident reviews, creating detailed reports on issues, their root causes, and corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Monitoring & Alerts:
  • Continuously monitor deployment pipelines and production environments to detect potential issues early. Ensure that monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) are configured to alert teams about failures or anomalies during deployments.
