Job Description:
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and ART coach who facilitates ART events and processes, and supports teams in delivering value.
They communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.
Although Agile Release Trains (ARTs) are composed of self-organizing and self-managing teams, these trains cannot drive or steer themselves.
That is the responsibility of the RTE, who facilitates most effectively as a servant leader.
They have a solid grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices and understand the unique opportunities and challenges of aligning and facilitating an ART (team-of-Agile Teams).
Manages multiple projects and orchestrates the results to achieve a broad program goal.
Plans and implements schedules and monitors program from inception through delivery.
Defines and reports program roadmap, status, development issues and success metrics.
Identifies and monitors areas of risk.
Continuously seeks opportunities to improve cost, performance and schedule.
Builds and manages to budgets. Facilitates communication and coordination among projects.
Manages stakeholder engagement and satisfaction.
Maintains awareness of trends, business conditions and internal process and practices impacting component projects or overall program.
Enterprise Architects (EAs) provide the vision, evolution, and communication of an enterprise’s technical architecture, creating the strategy and portfolio-level technical roadmaps for new and innovative technologies.
This often includes incorporating Cloud, Big Data, and AI technologies to create strategic advantage.
