Job Title: Part-time Software Project Manager (20 hours per week)

Job Description

This role leads end-to-end software implementation projects from initial kickoff through go-live and project closure. The Software Project Manager coordinates cross-functional teams, manages scope, budget, and timelines, and ensures each implementation aligns with the client’s business requirements and organizational objectives. The position requires strong enterprise project management capabilities, excellent stakeholder communication, and a structured approach to risk, issue, and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end software implementation projects from kickoff through go-live and project closure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate internal teams, client stakeholders, third-party vendors, and implementation partners to ensure aligned delivery.
  • Facilitate project kickoff meetings, recurring status meetings, steering committee updates, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Monitor project scope, manage change requests, and follow established governance processes for approvals and updates.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies and develop effective mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Track project budgets and forecasts and ensure all contract deliverables are clearly defined and met.
  • Ensure all implementation activities align with client business requirements and broader organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate key implementation activities, including data migration, system configuration, integration work, testing, training, and deployment.
  • Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring test plans, defect tracking, and sign-offs support go-live readiness.
  • Monitor project progress using project management tools and provide clear, regular status reporting to stakeholders.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while driving timely and effective resolution.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support knowledge transfer and a smooth transition to customer support or operations teams after implementation.
