Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced, performance based culture charged with driving growth and profitability at Mirion through the execution of R&D project work. The ideal candidate will leverage their Software Project management expertise, LEAN, and Visual Project Management knowledge to help drive Teams to deliver transformative products. This is a unique position, with visibility at the C-Suite level that works across the Global organization.
The primary duty of the Corporate Software Project Manager for Managed Services will be to perform project management duties focused specifically on critical software platforms within a managed services framework. A successful candidate acts as the primary liaison between Mirion and the externally managed technical team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of Mirion Technologies Inc..
This role requires expertise in both project management methodologies and managed services principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Primary
  • Project Management duties for high-level Managed Services projects.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation, for managed services projects.
  • Define and communicate across a cross-functional project team structure.
  • Help drive ownership and accountability of the Project Teams across cross functional swim-lanes.
  • Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure ongoing project profitability.
  • Forecast and manage resource needs, including assigning engineers and other technical staff to project tasks.
  • Support project teams in the use of daily management planning.
  • Drive project risk management within Project Teams including ongoing risk assessments and help identify and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize a tiered reporting structure to ensure appropriate audience, cadence, and agenda for meetings and effectively communicate status in a transparent manner.
    • Scaling from individual contributors all the way to Senior Corporate Executives.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and document lessons learned to improve future processes and project outcomes.
  • Transition completed projects seamlessly to the managed services support team, ensuring all necessary documentation and knowledge transfer are completed.
  • Corporate PMO duties
    • Standardize the storage of project documentation and artifacts
    • Aide the PMO and CTO offices in improving project delivery methodologies via Visual Project Management and improving consistency in project evaluation via the Mirion Stage Gate process.
    • Become a corporate expert in Visual Project Management techniques and assist the PMO office in deploying these techniques across all divisions.
    • Clearly and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Expertise in various project management methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira, MS Project) and other productivity tools.
  • Experience with managed services or a subscription-based service model is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern technologies, including cloud services and software deployment strategies.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to devise effective solutions under pressure.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide cross-functional teams toward a common goal.
  • The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, with polished presentation skills who is comfortable communicating in both upward and downward streams.

Education and certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, technology, or business
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications, such as Agile or ITIL, are a plus.
