Job description

Software Engineering Manager

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to support our E-7 program in Oklahoma City, OK.

This manager will be responsible for software engineering activities across multiple programs and contracts within the E-7 portfolio. The selected individual will provide leadership across the International portfolio.

The E-7 Software IPT is responsible for full software lifecycle of E-7 Mission Capabilities for current and future customers of the platform. This engages all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including proposals/estimating, modeling/requirements, design, implementation, integration, test, delivery and sustainment, and the leader in this role will support each of these lifecycle areas throughout execution. The E-7 portfolio is growing with current customer base contracts and future customer pursuit activities on-going.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads software development activities across the International E-7 Portfolio collaborating with the larger engineering IPTs for successful execution

  • Champions technical excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge-sharing across teams and programs

  • Deploys Boeing Engineering Initiatives and best practices, as appropriate, for improved quality and efficiency

  • Collaborates with customer engineering counterparts to align development roadmaps and identify/manage cross-program dependencies

  • Oversees multiple software development teams working across multiple contracts and programs in the international portfolio

  • Represents software development activities at change control boards, other formal, and informal collaborative meetings

  • Leads CDRLs, metrics, change boards, workflow and associated agile development

This position is expected to be 100%onsite. The selected candidate will be required to workonsiteat one of the listed location options.

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment:

To be considered for this position you will be required tocomplete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment willremove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader,tempmanager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course"Exploring Leadership."

  • 3+ years' experience with leading software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience with Defense Industry Development

  • Experience with Earned Value Management
