We are currently looking for a Full Time Sr. Manager, Collections to join our Cultural Center Collections Section team located at the Chickasaw Cultural Center working .
Summary:
Manages the long-term preservation of collections, to ensure proper care and preservation.
Responsibilities:

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
* Manages all aspects of collections care
* Develops, implements, and updates policies and procedures and maintains compliance
* Maintains files, logs, and records
* Serves as the staff liaison regarding the accessioning and deaccessioning of artifacts
* Monitors collections storage areas for proper environmental controls and space utilization and supervises storage reorganization and the moving of the collections items
* Collaborates on exhibition planning, checklist, images of objects for exhibition, publications, and research
* Collaborates with other staff to establish object conservation priorities and plans/implements the safe storage of all works in collections
* Performs archival research on collection materials and/or artifacts for inclusion in records and databases including provenance research in coordination with curators and director
* Forms the hands-on-problem-solving component of a collections team for objects within the cultural institution
* Recommends accessions and deaccessions
* Acts as liaison between internal and/or external individuals and/or groups
* Performs all other duties as assigned

Skills:
Essential:
* Skilled in surveying collections (e.g. historical or cultural crafts, artifacts, etc.)
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills

* Bachelors Degree in directly related field
