They often hold titles such as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), or Vice President of Software Development. Their duties include setting business goals, managing teams, overseeing product development, establishing partnerships, and ensuring the company stays competitive in the technology marketplace. Software executives play a critical role in driving innovation, maintaining profitability, and guiding organizational growth.

Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire and lead diverse teams are standout soft skills in this role. These skills are crucial for driving innovation, aligning technology with business goals, and ensuring organizational growth in a competitive market.

How do Software Executives typically balance strategic leadership with the need to stay updated on evolving technology trends?

Software Executives often face the challenge of aligning long-term business goals with rapid changes in technology. To manage this, they regularly engage with technical leaders, attend industry conferences, and participate in ongoing learning to stay informed about new tools and methodologies. Additionally, they foster a culture of innovation within their teams, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration. This approach helps them make informed strategic decisions while ensuring the organization's technology stack remains competitive.

Job description

About Us

Property Matrix is a software company focused on helping clients run their operations more efficiently with modern solutions. Our products are designed to support growing businesses with powerful tools, scalable workflows, and a strong user experience.

In this role, you will represent both of our software products — Property Matrix and Digital Waybill — helping prospective clients understand how our solutions can improve their operations. You will play an important role in building relationships, guiding prospects through the sales process, and contributing to the continued growth of our business.

Position Overview

We are seeking an Account Executive to join our team in a client-facing sales role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, learning new technology, and helping businesses find software solutions that fit their needs. Since our products support operational and accounting-related workflows, candidates should have a solid understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.

You will work directly with prospective clients across both Property Matrix and Digital Waybill by conducting demos, identifying business needs, and guiding opportunities from initial conversation through close. This role requires someone who is comfortable discussing software, understanding client pain points, and communicating value in a clear and engaging way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, professional communication to prospective clients interested in Property Matrix and Digital Waybill
  • Respond to inbound leads and engage prospective clients with accuracy, professionalism, and follow-through
  • Conduct product demos for both Property Matrix and Digital Waybill
  • Understand prospect needs and recommend solutions that align with their business goals
  • Build strong relationships with prospective clients through responsive communication and excellent service
  • Guide opportunities through the full sales cycle, from discovery to close
  • Learn both platforms in depth and confidently explain product functionality, workflows, and value
  • Collaborate with internal team members to support a smooth transition from sales to onboarding
  • Help identify common prospect needs and share feedback that supports product and sales improvements
  • Maintain accurate follow-up and pipeline activity throughout the sales process

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree that includes a course in accounting
  • 1+ years of sales experience
  • Experience developing relationships with new customers
  • Experience closing sales successfully
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to confidently demonstrate software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record of consistent sales success
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and interact with prospective clients in a professional, consultative way
  • Comfortable explaining technical concepts in a simple, user-friendly manner
  • Experience selling software or other technology solutions
  • Ability to thrive in an ambitious, team-oriented environment
  • Eager to take on new challenges and grow within a supportive team

Our Team

We are a team of innovative, energetic professionals committed to delivering exceptional software solutions and outstanding client experiences. Our culture encourages collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement. At Property Matrix, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills, contribute meaningfully, and be part of a company that values both performance and people.

Why Join Us

This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in software sales and client engagement. As an Account Executive, you will gain hands-on experience with two software products, work closely with prospective clients, and develop valuable skills in relationship building, product demonstrations, consultative selling, and business development.

We offer competitive compensation that includes base pay, commission, and bonus opportunities, along with strong benefits and the opportunity for long-term growth.

If you are excited to help businesses succeed, ready to build strong client relationships, and interested in growing your career in software sales, we would love to hear from you.
