Software Application Tester (Part-Time)

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Part-Time Software Application Tester in San Luis Obispo, CA. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow with a dynamic team of technical professionals. This role is ideal for a technically savvy Higher Education student seeking a part-time job with a flexible schedule. As a Part-Time Software Application Tester you will perform independent verification & validation of requirements by creating, running, and evaluating manual and automated tests. You will document defects and confirm their resolution.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of software components and hardware-software integration by assisting in the creation and execution of manual & automated test cases to verify software performance and function
  • Identifies and documents defects
  • Collects, inputs, and analyzes data for software metrics of limited scope and complexity using established procedures
  • Uses software tools to troubleshoot problems
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ year(s) of software troubleshooting experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Enrolled in or completed Higher Education
  • STEM background, technical writing
  • Software programming/scripting experience

Interview Experience:

The interview will consist of up to three steps:

  • Phone screen with our recruiter
  • In-person group assessment either:
    • In the San Luis Obispo office with a tour and time for questions (preferred; to be scheduled the week of June 8th)
    • In a virtual group assessment via Microsoft Teams (may be offered the week of June 15th if needed)
  • A final virtual personal interview with the hiring manager and a team lead
