Are you looking for a meaningful part-time position with a predictable weekend schedule?
East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park and Mortuary is seeking a compassionate, professional, and dependable Weekend Receptionist to join our team. This position is ideal for someone seeking weekend-only work, supplemental income, or semi-retirement employment.
This role is scheduled primarily on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional opportunities for additional weekday coverage if desired.
As the first point of contact for families and visitors, our receptionists play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive experience for those we serve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet families, visitors, and vendors with professionalism, warmth, and compassion
  • Answer a high volume of incoming calls promptly and courteously
  • Screen and transfer calls appropriately and take detailed messages when necessary
  • Maintain daily phone and service records accurately
  • Assist families and visitors with locating gravesites, crypts, and niches
  • Ensure the front desk and reception area remain organized and welcoming
  • Receive and distribute incoming mail and packages
  • Provide administrative support to Funeral Directors and Family Service Counselors
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Assist with special projects and additional office duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Prior receptionist, customer service, front desk, or administrative experience preferred
  • Professional communication and phone etiquette
  • Friendly, dependable, and compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to multitask in a busy environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Comfortable assisting families during sensitive or emotional situations
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Additional office administration or customer service training is a plus
Computer Skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn industry-specific software systems
Schedule
  • Primarily Saturdays and Sundays
  • 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Occasional weekday fill-in opportunities available, but not required
