Job description

Mid-Level Software Developer

Company:

The Boeing Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) organization is currently seeking a high performing versatile Mid-level Software Developer to join the team in Seal Beach, CA to support Experimental Systems Group, and other Southern California programs.

The IT Product Support Government contract direct team provides comprehensive software solutions to rapidly access and visually transform complex engineering and manufacturing product data supporting the Boeing Defense Systems (BDS) Contract Direct Product Support organization.

Opportunities include development and integration for a variety of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and in-house software application(s) supporting our engineering and manufacturing teams. Working within a specialized team of skilled and motivated co-workers to collaborate on results, this position requires a positive attitude, self-motivation, the ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs, programs, tests, implements, documents and maintains computing applications

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate end-user requirements, ensuring solutions align with organizational goals

  • Writes and compiles code and constructs database objects based on documented design and analyzes information to determine architecture specifications, parameters for software compatibility, application security needs and other application architecture requirements

  • Modifies or upgrades applications to maintain software functionality, performance, and user experience

  • Identifies and resolves programming or application architecture problems

  • Reviews system performance and identifies and recommends improvements

  • Address IT Compliance items by performing application scans for security requirements

  • Partner with senior team member on application server setup when needed

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve development practices and solutions

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, user guides, and release notes

  • Support integration efforts involving Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom-in-house software applications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with developing software with application integration and system architecture, utilizing standard IT lifecycle methodologies and tools

  • 3+ years of experience developing data management solutions including writing queries in SQL, .Net, Access, Oracle, JAVA Server Pages and interpreting the data

  • 3+ years of experience with leading teams and/or leading initiatives

  • 1+ years of experience with application development in one or more programming languages such as C#/C-Sharp, .NET, C, C++, Java, Python, R, SQL, Pro*C/C++, Perl, Shell Scripting, and Web/HTML technologies (JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, web services, REST, microservices etc.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience

  • 3+ years of experience with Software Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with AGILE Development

  • 1+ years of experience with Configuration management

  • 1+ years of experience with ColdFusion

  • 1+ years of experience with writing interfaces and ETL development

  • 1+ years of experience working with PDM/PLM systems (Teamcenter)

  • 1+ years of experience supporting engineering applications

  • 1+ years of experience with Amazon Q/ KIRO

  • 1+ years of experience with Cloud

  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft SharePoint administration
