With the resources of a large company, and the energy of a software start-up, we have fun together while creating a world class software portfolio. Our culture encourages creativity, welcomes fresh thinking, and focuses on growth, so our people, our business, and our customers can achieve their full potential.
Position Overview
At Siemens, we are pioneering the next era of industrial digital transformation. Central to this mission is the Prescriptive Selling Platform (PSP), a purpose-built ecosystem designed to unify and optimize our global sales operations across hardware and software. By employing data-driven recommendations, PSP guides sales teams to identify key opportunities, engage correct team members, and deliver highly targeted Value Solution Selling. Our platform standardizes standard methodologies, improves sales efficiency, and accelerates strategic software adoption, driving consistent global execution and directly supporting Siemens' revenue growth.
As the Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a highly multi-functional, agile team comprising both local and external/contractor developers. In this role, you will act as a key bridge, collaborating closely with Product Management and the Software Operations team to orchestrate seamless software delivery. You will cultivate a collaborative culture that balances operational excellence with rapid innovation, ensuring our engineering efforts align directly with business and product objectives.
This is an exciting time to join our team as we embark on several high-impact technical initiatives. You and your team will play a pivotal role in evolving PSP into an AI-ready platform-developing latest AI use cases, transitioning to a brand-new, modern client UI, and deepening our integration with enterprise-grade platforms like Salesforce (SFDC) and Polarion. If you are a collaborative leader who flourishes with guiding hardworking developers through major technological evolutions, this role offers the perfect platform to make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
  • Personnel Management & Leadership: Partner closely with the Software Engineering Manager to supervise, hire, train, appraise, reward, motivate, and discipline engineering staff, including recommending termination when necessary.
  • Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Act as the technical lead and mentor for junior engineers, offering high-level technical expertise, problem resolution, and leadership to the development group.
  • System Design & Architecture: Create, document, and implement robust software designs, which includes spearheading the significant re-architecting of critical internal systems.
  • Functional Quality Assurance: Be responsible for and ensure the overall functional quality of all released software products, focusing on high-quality, on-time delivery that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Product Direction & Innovation: Influence the technical roadmap for a specific product area and actively promote innovation by introducing new technologies and advanced knowledge to the team and product.
  • Complex Programming & Analysis: Perform in-depth, highly complex software systems programming and analysis, working independently with complete latitude for judgment on advanced projects.
  • Customer Collaboration & Advisory: Regularly collaborate with customers regarding future product upgrades, using a broad knowledge of internal operating systems, application implications, and customer environments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or equivalent
  • 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in software engineering and application development
  • 5+ years working within a complex, enterprise-level software ecosystem or a large-scale industrial digital transformation environment
  • Proven experience collaborating closely with Product Management and Software Operations teams to deliver production-grade systems
  • A minimum of 1 to 2+ years of direct people management, team lead, or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated success managing and orchestrating highly multi-functional teams
  • Minimal to light travel (< 15%)
Required Knowledge, Skills, or Expertise
  • AI & Modern UI Frameworks: Strong conceptual and practical understanding of evolving platforms into AI-ready systems (experience with AI use-case implementation, LLM integrations, and modern client UI/UX transitions).
  • Enterprise System Integrations: Hands-on experience architecting and managing critical system integrations, specifically with Salesforce (SFDC) and application lifecycle tools like Polarion.
  • Architecture & Design: Exceptional skill in creating, documenting, and implementing complex software designs, including experience spearheading the significant re-architecting of critical systems.
  • Agile & Lifecycle Methodologies: Extensive knowledge of the Software Life Cycle (SLC), testing automation, and Agile development methodologies to ensure high functional quality upon release.
