Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering leads delivery and operations for key applications within the Connected PBM Ecosystem and Finance Applications. This newly created role is responsible for managing engineering teams that build and support systems for our growing needs in PBM client underwriting, contract management, trade products, and ecosystem integrations. The Senior Manager partners closely with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions align with strategic goals and OKRs.

This role is a hands on people and delivery leadership position, focused on execution, quality, and continuous improvement while operating within established enterprise standards and roadmaps.

What you will do
  • Provide day to day leadership and direction to multiple engineering teams supporting the Connected PBM ecosystem.
  • Partner with product owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear technical execution plans.
  • Own delivery of assigned initiatives ensuring quality, design adherence, timelines, and budget alignment.
  • Manage team capacity, resource planning, and vendor contributions for assigned initiatives.
  • Ensure systems comply with company policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices including CI CD, testing, and operational excellence.
  • Coach and develop engineers and technical leads, fostering accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Collaborate with architecture and platform teams to align solutions with enterprise standards.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
Required Qualifications

7 plus years of experience in software engineering with 5 plus years of experience leading full stack engineering teams including the following:

  • Hands on background with Angular, TypeScript, Spring Boot, Java or Kotlin, and modern testing frameworks.
  • Experience with CI CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications on cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting healthcare or financial systems.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes based platforms such as AKS, GKE, or OpenShift.
  • Understanding of data platforms and integrations.
  • Experience driving modernization or platform improvement initiatives.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $260,590.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
