PRIMARY FUNCTION

The press brake operator will bend, shape, and form plates to required drawings and specifications.

 

DUTIES

  • Operate a hydraulic press brake to manufacture weldments from metal plates, forming and straightening, taper, and dish shapes to model data / drawings using cut forming templates
  • Prepare, set up, and adjust press brake as required by product plans and production schedules
  • Lift or move materials and finished products using overhead cranes / hi-lo
  • Measure and align materials to be used
  • Inspect products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and project specifications
  • Perform routine safety inspection and as needed maintenance on the press brake
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Document actions by completing production timesheets
  • Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience operating a hydraulic press brake experience forming aerospace tooling facesheets is preferred. We are willing to train those who have zero experience.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate press brake controls
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints and project plans
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Ability to pass a drug test, with little or no notice, in compliance with the law
  • Ability to pass a background check in compliance with the law

Employees frequently stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work from ladders or scaffolds; sitting is occasional. The role requires regularly lifting to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Close vision is required.
