Description:

The Business Development Manager-New Markets (BDM-NM) will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing growth strategies to expand the company’s market presence, acquiring new customers, and diversifying the business portfolio. This role requires a results-driven, proactive, strategic thinker with a passion for hunting and closing new opportunities. The role requires a person with strong commercial acumen, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to translate market opportunities into long term, profitable customers. They must have experience in RTP

Responsibilities:

·       Market Expansion: Help identify and evaluate new market segments and emerging opportunities aligned with company capabilities and growth goals.

·       Customer Acquisition: Prospect, engage, and build relationships with potential customers to expand the company’s reach and revenue base.

·       Product Development Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to identify potential new products or enhancements that meet evolving customer and market needs.

·       Opportunity Qualification: Efficiently assess and qualify potential opportunities based on fit, profitability, and strategic alignment.

·       Sales Growth: Develop and execute strategies that drive top-line revenue growth through new business generation.

·       Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to inform business strategy and product development initiatives.

·       Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and action plans of opportunities, contacts, and activities in the company’s CRM system and close Opportunities effectively.

·       Reporting: Provide regular updates on business development activities, performance metrics, and market insights to leadership.

 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.

·       5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related growth-focused role (within plastic packaging)

·       Proven success identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities in packaging or related field.

·       Exceptional prospecting and relationship-building skills with a “hunter” mentality.

·       Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to evaluate markets and opportunities.

·       Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

·       Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

·       Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.

·       Ability to travel 50% of time for customer visits, industry trade shows and other events.
