The Sr Full Stack Software Engineer is responsible for producing scalable software solutions utilizing a range of different technologies and languages (such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, C#) to develop applications approaching software holistically in order to cater to both user experience and functionality. Work assignments will involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

This position is remote but requires you to reside in one of the following locations: Chicago, IL, DC/Baltimore Metro area, Louisville, KY, or Dallas/Frisco, TX.

The Sr Full Stack Engineer Is involved in all stages of software development, including front-end development, back-end development, database integrations, network and hosting management, user interface, user experience, and back-end server management. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

As a Sr Full Stack Engineer, you will perform the following:

  • Work with a team of developers with deep experience in frontend technologies, distributed microservices, and full stack systems

  • Work across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies

  • Work with cloud native stack, build on Azure, AWS, or Google, use technologies like Kubernetes

  • Write effective REST APIs and technical documentation

  • Write automated test cases to ensure correctness, responsiveness, and efficiency of the software product

  • Provide expertise to influence project, initiative, and maintenance technical direction during discovery, planning, and implementation stages.

  • Maintain modern development standards with best-practice approaches and development processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or combination of education and relevant IT experience

  • 4+ years' experience in Python programming

  • 4+ years' experience in software engineering

  • 2+ years' experience in at least one of the following: Angular, React or Vue.js

  • 2+ years' experience in at least one of the following: Java or Node.js

  • At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or another cloud service

  • At least 1 year of experience in building micro frontends and/or micro services


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

  • Advance experience in Microsoft Azure

  • Experience in Building Domain Driven Microservices

  • Advance experience in building software with Cloud native technologies

  • Experience in SASS, W3C Web Standards, Web performance, Cross-browser compatibility

  • Advanced understanding of web modular design patterns

  • Content Management (advanced experience and best-practices

Work-At-Home Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
