Job description

The primary purpose of this role is to lead development resources, and participate in the efforts to solve complex technical problems to deliver vital, reliable product features to our customers. You will be hands-on, planning, developing, testing, deploying and releasing solutions in an agile environment. You will help develop people for the long term, recruiting, training, promoting and advocating for your direct reports.
Responsibilities:
  • Architect and lead development of technical solutions that are secure, robust, performant, and scalable
  • Employ technical and thought leadership to drive products from discovery to release
  • Work with product and design solve customer problems and discover solutions that are valuable, viable, usable and feasible
  • Balance engineering costs of development, testing, deployment complexity, and run-time cost, to deliver optimum value for the business and customers
  • Responsible for people development, resource management and enhancing overall productivity
  • Identify and recruit internal/external talents to ensure effective mix of competencies
  • Set and communicate team/individual objectives and KPIs to inspire individuals to achieve high performance
  • Implement development plans and coach individuals to reach their maximum talent
  • Provide regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address performance issues in a timely manner
  • Recognize high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Exceptional communication skills

Experience:
  • 12+ years of significant hands-on experience in full-stack development
  • 7+ years of experience in each of the following
    • Designing and building highly scalable consumer facing web application
    • Developing with modern web technologies (Typescript, React, Angular)
    • Consuming and building RESTful web services
    • Service-oriented architectures and microservices (C#/.NET, Java)
    • Test-driven development and automated end-to-end testing
    • System performance analysis and tuning
    • Relational database development
    • Version control and continuous integration
    • Agile software development life cycle-from concept to delivery
    • Architecting scalable, web-based solutions for caching, retry, asynchronous queuing, etc.
    • Leadership in root cause analysis and risk mitigation
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following
    • Distributed systems and cloud computing (Azure, AWS, etc)
    • Document storage technologies (MongoDB, AWS S3, etc.)
    • Messaging systems (Azure Service Bus, AWS SQS, ActiveMQ, etc.)
  • 4-7 year relevant leadership experience (Preferred)
  • Practical experience integrating AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) into a team's workflow to deliver production-level code.
  • Experience and knowledge of the industry (Preferred)
