Location Cincinnati, OH - Hybrid. This role is based in our Cincinnati office with the expectation to work onsite 4 days a week. Job Summary You will be testing and developing test automation for our products, focusing on Android mobile application quality.

You will work with all aspects of the product development lifecycle, including collaborating with developers, product owners, and QA team members to ensure quality across the full software development lifecycle. The Software Engineer in Test plays an essential role in ensuring the quality of PatientPoint's products. The primary responsibility will be to work in partnership with developers, product owners, and the QA team to define, design, execute testing, and build or modify existing automation using Java and Appium.

You will develop a deep understanding of our products and the complex use cases required to test them thoroughly on Android devices. You will create and maintain a robust set of automated tests that serve as the primary foundation for regression, deployment, and continuous delivery testing. You will follow established standards while contributing to the ongoing improvement of our automation frameworks and practices.

What You'll Do Collaborate with your Agile team and actively contribute in all Agile ceremonies to define story acceptance criteria for feature and maintenance development. Analyze system requirements and review technical specifications to assess, evaluate, and create testing requirements for functional and end-to-end scenarios on Android mobile applications. Follow best practices for construction and utilization of Page Object Model (POM) and Hybrid Testing Frameworks to support CI/CD pipelines for test automation and integration.

Design, construct, and maintain automated test reporting infrastructure to provide technical, project, and business visibility into software quality. Contribute to performance and regression test creation, execution, and integration into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Work as a multi-skilled professional practicing SAFe Agile within SCRUM/Kanban methodology.

Take part in continuous improvement through sharing of knowledge and contributing to a shift-left testing mindset within the team. What We Need 4+ years of total professional experience. 3+ years of experience in software testing and test automation of mobile and/or API-based solutions.

3+ years of experience working on Agile teams. Hands-on experience with Android mobile testing. Experience with the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern for test automation frameworks.

Experience with version source control systems and Git flow. Experience in designing test plans, defect management, and reporting. Experience using AI-assisted tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) to accelerate QA activities, including test case creation, test automation development, execution analysis, and bug reporting.

Desired Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. Experience testing applications on physical Android devices and emulators. Hands-on experience with Android mobile test automation using Appium and Java.

Experience with RESTful API testing. Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms for test integration. Familiarity with build environments such as Jenkins or Maven.

Experience with Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure. Knowledge of Linux, SSH, and shell scripting. Exposure to performance or load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, or k6)
