Location: Plano, TX (5 days work from client office)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 6 8 years of experience in test automation and software quality engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks while ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of modern web applications. This role requires close collaboration with software developers, product managers, and QA teams to build high-quality software through automation and continuous testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks for web applications.
  • Create and execute automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
  • Develop automation scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript with Playwright.
  • Build and maintain performance and load testing suites using Artillery or similar performance testing tools.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar DevOps tools.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and UX teams to understand business requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Review requirements and technical designs to identify test scenarios and edge cases.
  • Perform API testing, database validation, and end-to-end system testing.
  • Execute exploratory, smoke, regression, and release testing.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices across the team.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, automation frameworks, and quality engineering standards.
  • Support production releases and perform post-deployment validation.
  • Contribute to quality metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 6 8 years of experience in Software Testing, Test Automation, or Software Quality Engineering.
  • Strong experience developing automation frameworks using Playwright.
  • Excellent programming skills in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
  • Experience with performance and load testing using Artillery, JMeter, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies including:
  • Experience working with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
  • Strong knowledge of Git version control.
  • Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Good understanding of SQL and database validation.
