As a Mid-Level Software Engineer supporting NASA programs through a contractor organization, you will develop, maintain, and enhance web-based and low-code applications that support mission operations, engineering analysis, and enterprise systems. This role requires working within a highly collaborative, process-driven environment, contributing to applications that support critical spaceflight and research initiatives.
You will leverage a Microsoft-based technology stack including C#, ASP.NET, Blazor, Angular, SQL Server, and the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) while adhering to NASA and contractor software development standards.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
โข Design, develop, and maintain web applications supporting NASA mission and enterprise systems
โข Build modern UI components using Blazor and Angular โข Develop backend services and RESTful APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core
โข Write optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and support database design (SQL Server)
โข Create and maintain low-code/no-code solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
โข Integrate Power Platform applications with enterprise data sources and REST APIs
โข Develop, maintain, and optimize interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision-making.
โข Create efficient data models, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations to ensure accuracy and performance across BI solutions.
โข Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into intuitive visualizations and KPIs.
โข Collaborate with NASA civil servants, engineers, and cross-functional contractor teams
โข Participate in full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment
โข Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards and security requirements
โข Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both traditional and low-code application environments
โข Use Team Foundation Server (TFS) / Azure DevOps for source control, backlog management, and CI/CD pipelines โข Support documentation, including technical design documents and user guides
Required Qualifications
โข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
โข 5-8 years of professional software development experience โข Strong experience with C# and ASP.NET (Core and/or MVC) โข Experience building front-end applications with Angular and/or Blazor
โข Experience developing solutions using Power Apps (Canvas/Model-Driven) and Power Automate โข Proficiency with SQL Server, including database design and performance tuning
โข Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs โข Familiarity with TFS or Azure DevOps for version control and work tracking
โข Ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
โข Prior experience supporting government or aerospace programs
โข Familiarity with NASA software standards or similar regulated environments
โข Experience with Microsoft Azure, Dataverse, and Power Platform administration
โข Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems โข Experience building custom connectors for Power Platform
โข Experience with automated testing and test frameworks โข Understanding of cybersecurity best practices (NIST, secure coding standards)
Security & Clearance Requirements
โข Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for NASA contract work)
โข Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or higher-level clearance (as required by contract)
