Our flagship consumer brand, PerfectGift.com, enables customers to create customized gift cards. We are a fast-paced environment, like kayaking down a white-water river, not canoeing on a lake.
About The Role
Wolfe is a Pittsburgh-based FinTech company building the next generation of financial products, and we are actively embedding AI across our product, our internal processes, and the way our teams work day-to-day. As a Software Engineer on our B2B team, you'll build and maintain the front-end and back-end features that power the products our business customers rely on, turning UI/UX designs into fast, dependable web experiences. You'll work alongside engineers who use AI-assisted tooling as a daily part of how we ship, and you'll grow your craft with guidance from senior engineers on the team. We're looking for an early-career engineer who is eager to learn, takes ownership of well-defined work, and cares about writing clean, maintainable code.
  • This is a 5-day onsite role in Pittsburgh, PA.
  • The job title at hire will be either Associate Software Engineer or Software Engineer, depending on your experience and expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain front-end and back-end features for Wolfe's B2B products, translating UI/UX designs into responsive, high-performance web experiences.
  • Write reusable, well-tested code and use AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate coding, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
  • Contribute to migrating key flows from legacy platforms to Next.js and Vercel as part of our ongoing modernization work.
  • Test and debug applications across devices and browsers to keep them fast, stable, and accessible.
  • Provide product support by investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving customer- or stakeholder-reported issues in partnership with support, product, and engineering teams.
  • Build, maintain, and support full-stack product features using PHP on the back end and Next.js on the front end.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and stakeholders, and document your code and decisions to support knowledge sharing across the team.
Impact Statement

For more clarity on the role, below are the success metrics and measurements for this role in the first 90 to 120 days.:
  • Complete onboarding and independently ship at least three production features or bug fixes to a B2B product with code review sign-off.
  • Contribute to at least one legacy-to-Next.js/Vercel migration task, delivering your assigned piece end-to-end.
  • Demonstrate consistent use of AI-assisted development tools in your daily workflow, and document at least one feature or component for the team's shared knowledge base.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience, or equivalent internship, co-op, and project experience for early-career candidates; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Working knowledge of modern front-end technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with exposure to deploying on Vercel.
  • Back-end development experience in at least one of PHP, Node.js, Python, Java, or C#, and familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design, version control with Git, and an understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) and an openness to adopting emerging AI technologies, paired with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from feedback.

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks
