Job description

At Findorff, we bring expertise and value in construction that extends far beyond building. Since 1890, we’ve grown from humble beginnings into one of the Midwest’s most trusted construction firms – driven by strong relationships, high-quality work, and a commitment to the communities we serve.

Come join Findorff as an IT Co-op this Spring/Summer (January 2027 – August 2027) or Summer/Fall (May/June 2027 – December 2027).

What You’ll Do

The IT Co-op is based in Madison, WI and works alongside Findorff's Information Technology team. As an IT Co-op, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the technology systems that power our business and jobsites. This role is designed for students interested in information technology, cybersecurity, systems administration, and technical support. You'll work alongside experienced IT professionals while developing technical, analytical, and customer service skills.

  • Provide Technical Support: Assist team members with troubleshooting hardware, software, mobile devices, and basic network-related issues while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Support IT Operations: Help with user account management, workstation setup and deployment, software installs, equipment inventory, and technology onboarding tasks.
  • Assist with Infrastructure & Systems: Gain exposure to servers, cloud-based applications, networking, and enterprise systems while supporting ongoing maintenance and upgrades.
  • Contribute to Cybersecurity Efforts: Assist with security awareness initiatives, device compliance activities, access management, and other cybersecurity best practices.
  • Support Technology Projects: Participate in IT projects that improve efficiency, support business operations, and enhance the employee experience.
  • Learn IT Systems & Tools: Utilize platforms such as Microsoft 365, Active Directory, endpoint management tools, and ticketing systems while building technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Why Findorff

  • Gain hands-on experience from day one by contributing to meaningful IT initiatives, not just job shadowing.
  • Work alongside experienced mentors invested in your learning and professional growth.
  • Develop technical and business knowledge by supporting employees across a variety of departments and construction operations.
  • Experience a collaborative, people-first culture where your ideas and contributions are valued.
  • Build a strong foundation for a future career in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, or Technical Support.

Plus: competitive hourly pay, holiday pay, housing stipend, and a structured co-op program.

What We Are Looking For

  • Pursuing an associates or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a desire to help others.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable learning and working with a variety of technologies and software applications.
  • Interest in building a career in Information Technology.
