Required: Tasks & Duties

Excellent communication skills to include verbal, written & presentation.

Free and Open Source Software Administrator

Use industry best practices and available consultants to develop and implement a systemic process to identify, document and approve the use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) for inclusion in Panasonic products.

Work with Legal group and other approvers to gain approval of FOSS adoption prior to code release.

Work with software leads and build administrators to ensure process gateways are implemented prior to customer releases.

Maintain and update databases to identify and archive available FOSS fingerprints and code snippets within projects.

Manage code base size within desired limits of FOSS database licensing.

Train software developers on the process and tools.

Develop processes and tools for research, standardization and adoption of FOSS assets in support of PASA platform architecture.

Develop and maintain metrics on FOSS adoption across projects.

Report Preparation

Maintain project plans to provide status updates on initiatives.

Provide feedback to management in order to address potential project "roadblocks".

Perform post audits on system enhancements to confirm benefits realized and update future benefits analysis to reflect lessons learned. General

Interprets and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.

Will initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related Engineering field. 

Minimum of five years of related experience with a commercial software development company. 

Must be familiar with RTC, GCC, Make, Ant, C++, reg expressions, Unix, various scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)

Experience working in multicultural environment preferred.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access), Outlook and Windows-based databases as appropriate to the position and assignment.
