About the Job

We are seeking a passionate and creative Designer- Socks to join our design team, specializing in the legwear category. The Associate Designer will play a key role in assisting with the design and development of legwear collections, translating trends and concepts into innovative, marketable products that resonate with our target audience.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and develop original designs for legwear collections, incorporating market trends, brand identity, and consumer preferences.
  • Conduct research on current fashion trends, color palettes, materials, and silhouette innovations relevant to the legwear category, and translate findings into design concepts.
  • Create detailed sketches and CAD renderings of legwear designs, considering fit, proportion, construction, and technical specifications.
  • Source and evaluate materials, trims, and embellishments for legwear designs, ensuring quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with product development and sample teams to create prototypes and samples of legwear designs, providing input on fit, construction, and aesthetic details.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and tech packs for legwear designs, communicating design details and requirements to vendors and manufacturers.
  • Assist in color palette development and print/pattern selection for legwear designs, ensuring alignment with seasonal themes and brand aesthetics.
  • Participate in fit sessions and garment fittings, providing feedback on fit, comfort, and functionality of legwear prototypes, and proposing necessary adjustments.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor offerings in the legwear category, identifying opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including merchandising, production, and marketing to ensure alignment of design vision and product execution.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in fashion design, with a focus on legwear or related categories preferred.
  • Strong design portfolio showcasing creative and innovative legwear designs.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and other design software.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and textile fundamentals.
  • Excellent sketching and rendering skills, with a keen eye for detail and proportion.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings in the fashion industry.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
