PERSONAL CARE COMPANION-MED TECH

The Oaks at Pleasant Gap, a personal care and independent living community, is actively seeking candidates for Personal Care Companion/Med Techs. This is a non-supervisory position that provides our residents with quality routine daily personal care.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all prescribed med passes during shift according to orders.
  • Assist residents with bath functions as directed.  May require verbal cues and minimal assist with dressing tasks during and after baths.
  • Assist residents with dressing properly and comfortably and undressing as necessary, keeping residents dry.  Assist with putting on shoes and socks.
  • Assist residents with personal care needs including hair care functions, nail care, and oral care.
  • Assist with room care including laundry collection and light housekeeping.
  • Transport or accompany residents to and from such activities.  Remind personal care residents of appointments as needed, mealtime, activities and when necessary transport or accompany residents to and from such activities.
  • Check residents routinely to assure that their personal care needs are being met.
  • Answer call bells and handle emergencies that come up during assigned shift.
  • Participate in and receive the report upon reporting for duty.
  • Reports all accidents/incidents and changes in a resident’s condition observed on shift.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of personal care experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
