Job description

Position Summary: The Summer Program Coordinator oversees the operation of day-to day activities of various program components related to service delivery to participants between the ages of 13-21. The position is temporary and will run from July 8, 2026 to August 29, 2026. The Program Coordinator reports to the Manager of Youth Development and Intergenerational Programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of up to 4 program staff
  • Coordinate and organize daily operations of summer program activities and set priorities for managing program
  • Implementation of a basketball tournament throughout the Alfred E. Smith Housing Project
  • Schedule weekly staff meetings and in-service training opportunities
  • Plan and execute special events for program participants in collaboration with staff
  • Facilitation of workshops on teen violence/crime reduction as well as conflict resolution
  • Complete reports and other necessary documents for funding sources


Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1- 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Must be organized with ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be able to work well with others


Compensation: $30 per hour

Hours: Evening and weekend hours. Schedule to be determined (30 hours per week)
