Job Description The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI) is seeking a Social Work Associate to join our team. This is a full-time position with an overnight schedule, Friday - Tuesday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., and opportunity for advancement, growth, and development

The successful candidate for this position will primarily perform the following job duties as Social Work Associate: Conduct patient/family interviews to obtain information for social histories. Obtain case records and prior hospital stays and releases. Make patient referrals.

Participate in discharge planning. Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position. IMHI provides inpatient treatment and acute psychiatric services, includingindividualized treatment plans and support for children and adolescent patients to continue their education.

Individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan. Medication, group counseling, and activities therapies might be included as well. Minimum Qualification Requirements Graduation from an accredited area college with an Associate's of Arts or Science Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Case Management, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, or Nursing; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education substituting one year of the required full-time experience in social work, human services, case management, public administration, sociology, psychology, or nursing for each year (30 semester hours or one year) of the required education.
