Amergis is currently hiring compassionate and dependable School Aides to support students throughout the 2026โ€“2027 school year in Santa Ana, California.   • Pay Rate: $20โ€“$22/hour (based on experience)
  • Schedule Options: Full-Time, Part-Time, and Substitute/Fill-In opportunities available based on district needs
  • Required: Must have 6+ ECE college credits
Position Overview

The School Aide works under the direction of teachers, special education staff, and other designated school personnel to provide instructional, behavioral, and classroom support to students. This role is essential in creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment while promoting students' academic, social, and behavioral growth.

Depending on the assignment, School Aides may also assist students with personal care, mobility needs, and therapeutic support services as directed by educational and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers with classroom instruction, organization, and daily activities
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group student assistance
  • Assist students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
  • Help implement individualized accommodations and behavior support plans
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities
  • Foster a positive, safe, and structured learning environment
  • Assist with personal care and mobility support when required
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and school administrators
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must meet all applicable professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR certification (if required by assignment)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray clearance (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate as required by state or district regulations
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
