Job description

Overview

The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing 84 Lumber's organic social media strategy across all platforms. This role oversees content planning, brand voice, audience growth, influencer partnerships, and social-first campaigns that elevate brand awareness, engagement, and business objectives. The Social Media Manager will collaborate closely with the marketing team to create compelling content while ensuring a consistent brand presence across all social channels. This position also provides leadership and mentorship to the Social Media Coordinator.


Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the company's organic social media strategy across all platforms, aligning with overall marketing and business objectives.
  • Develop and manage the annual organic social media strategy ensuring alignment with company priorities, recruiting initiatives, sponsorships, partnerships, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging across all social media channels.
  • Develop channel-specific strategies for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms to maximize audience engagement and business impact.
  • Lead audience development initiatives and implement strategies to drive organic growth, engagement, and community building.
  • Develop and manage influencer marketing programs, including identifying, negotiating with, and maintaining relationships with creators and brand advocates.
  • Manage vendor and co-branded social media partnerships, including seasonal campaigns and strategic content collaborations.
  • Own the social media content calendar, ensuring timely planning, coordination, approval, and execution of content across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with agencies, vendors and internal associates to plan, organize, and execute content production, including coordinating on-site shoots and project-based storytelling opportunities.
  • Monitor social media performance, analyze metrics, develop monthly and quarterly performance reports, identify trends, and provide recommendations to continuously improve content strategy and platform performance.
  • Serve as the company's subject matter expert on social media trends, platform updates, best practices, and emerging technologies, providing guidance to internal teams as needed.
  • Support reputation management efforts by monitoring social conversations and partnering with the other departments during issues requiring timely communication.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Social Media Coordinator by providing leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has the potential to have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
The incumbent is located in a busy office area and is faced with constant interruptions on a regular basis.

Physical Demands
This position requires frequent sitting, use of hands, talking and listening. Periodically this position walks, stands and reaches. Rarely, this position climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouch or crawl.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on store hours of operations, 45+ hours per week.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
