Assistant General Manager & Social Media Coordinator
Department: Operations / Marketing
Status: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Location: Kirkland, WA
Entity:
Gold's Gym PNW
Reports To: Ownership / Director of Operations

Position Summary
This role combines Assistant General Manager responsibilities with ownership of the club's social media and community presence. It is a single full-time position for someone who runs the day-to-day club experience while serving as the on-the-ground voice of Gold's Gym PNW.
You lead the team and deliver strong member experiences on the floor, and because you are in the club every day, you are positioned to capture the real moments that make great content. Those moments become the posts, stories, and campaigns that promote our offers, events, and member and trainer highlights across our locations.

Instagram is the primary platform, with TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X, and Google as additional channels. Branded content creation using approved Canva templates is foundational to the role, supported by in-gym photo and video capture tied to campaign priorities.

This position is ideal for a motivated, creator-minded leader who enjoys building team culture, delivering great member experiences, and growing community connection both in the club and online.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Club and Set the Tone
  • Lead by example on the floor to deliver strong member experiences and keep the club clean, friendly, and motivating.
  • Oversee daily operations, including fitness programs, administrative tasks, and overall service quality.
  • Handle member questions and service issues with a positive attitude and quick, effective resolutions.
  • Use your daily presence in the club to spot and capture the moments worth sharing, from member milestones to events as they happen.
Build and Develop the Team
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members, helping them grow while meeting business targets.
  • Set goals for the team and yourself, tracking progress and ensuring consistent results.
  • Coach the team on brand standards so the club looks and sounds consistent in person and online.
  • Feature trainers and staff in content that highlights their work and builds the club's reputation.
Grow Membership and Local Awareness
  • Conduct club tours, follow up with leads, and build member relationships that support retention.
  • Promote offers, events, and programs through timely, on-brand social content that drives local awareness and walk-ins.
  • Connect online promotion to in-club follow-through so interest turns into visits and visits turn into members.
  • Work with ownership and the management team to support events, optimize schedules, and carry out marketing efforts.
Create Content and Tell the Club's Story
  • Maintain an active, up-to-date social presence across Gold's Gym PNW locations.
  • Create on-brand assets using approved Canva templates for local promotions, campaigns, and announcements.
  • Capture photo and short-form video in the club to support storytelling and campaign priorities.
  • Publish approved content across platforms, primarily Instagram, Facebook, Google, and TikTok.
  • Organize and maintain Instagram Highlights, content files, and website content so information stays current, accurate, and relevant.
Engage the Community, Online and In Person
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, mentions, and reviews in a timely, brand-appropriate way.
  • Escalate customer care questions, facility issues, or sensitive conversations to the right internal team.
  • Engage with local members, partners, and community accounts to build awareness and participation.
  • Partner with General Managers and Brand Social to support event promotion and local activations.
  • Share basic engagement insights and content learnings from the club and region.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience (retail, reception, customer service, hospitality, etc.).
  • Two or more years of staff supervision and onboarding experience.
  • One to two years of experience in social media, content creation, or community management. Internship or freelance experience accepted.
  • Experience creating branded assets in Canva and editing short-form video.
  • Comfortable capturing photo and video on an iPhone or other mobile device.
  • Strong written communication with the ability to match brand voice and tone.
  • Comfortable using gym management software, email, and digital tools.
  • Availability: flexible hours including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing and able to travel within the assigned region based on campaign and activation priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two to four years of management experience in a team-oriented setting, ideally retail, hospitality, or fitness.
  • Previous experience in the fitness industry.
  • Familiarity with social media management and publishing tools.
  • Passion for fitness, community, and local engagement.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Pay: based on experience.
  • Paid Time Off: generous PTO.
  • Gym Access: free membership, plus the ability to bring a guest.
  • Training & Development: ongoing opportunities to learn, grow, and advance.
  • Supportive Environment: a culture focused on being motivating, authentic, and having fun while achieving goals.
Physical Requirements / Environment
  • Ability to move frequently throughout the club and engage with members and team members.
  • Lifting weights and assisting with physical fitness activities.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a lively gym environment with high noise levels.
