Job description

The OEM SME Engineer โ€“ NetApp Mid (with VMware) will serve as the primary technical expert for vendor solutions, providing enterprise-level engineering support and assistance across storage and virtualization environments. This role requires a strong background in NetApp storage technologies and VMware virtualization, particularly within large-scale DoD or federal enterprise networks.

Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Act as the lead technical specialist for vendor-related solutions and enterprise engineering support.
โ€ข Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor R&D and technical support teams to ensure effective design, integration, and operation of storage solutions.
โ€ข Provide hands-on engineering support within Storage Engineering and Virtualization functional areas.
โ€ข Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to NetApp storage systems, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
โ€ข Design, deploy, and maintain NetApp Storage solutions to meet mission and operational requirements.
โ€ข Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with DoD and organizational security and operational standards.
โ€ข Maintain and document system configurations, architecture designs, and process improvements.

Required Qualifications:
โ€ข Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, storage, or virtualization.
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
โ€ข Active Secret Clearance.
โ€ข Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification (Level III or IASAE II preferred).
โ€ข Proven experience with NetApp storage systems in enterprise environments.
โ€ข Hands-on experience with VMware configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
โ€ข Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support critical production systems under pressure.
