We are seeking an Electronic Security Systems Tech Specialist 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
As a Electronic Security Systems Tech Specialist 3, you will become an expert in evaluating various technologies to improve our customers' physical security posture. You should be able to quickly and thoroughly understand customers' needs and translate them into a system design, define systems adoption plans that can be deployed at scale for global systems.
Be an expert in one or more technology sets in Physical Security: Access Control, Video Management (CCTV), Intrusion Detection, Perimeter Detection Systems, Biometrics, Device Detection Systems, and Unified Systems. Develop expertise on vendor software and hardware products, establish and foster vendor relationships, collaborate and work closely with vendor product teams to provide product evaluation feedback and contribute to improving these solutions for our customers. Have an understanding of the IT environments needed to operate in and collaborate with network security teams to securely deploy the best solutions. Work with a team of Security Engineers and other cross-functional teams to share your knowledge and gain an even deeper understanding of how large enterprises are secured.
Here's what your typical project will look like:
  • Identify candidate technologies and solutions based on customers' needs and requirements.
  • Evaluate existing and new solutions against defined requirements and industry best practices.
  • Design, sustain, and provide technical support for deployed security systems.
  • Develop procedures to validate system configuration, data input and data migration. Ensure high data quality ingestion in new and existing systems. Develop test plans, deployment plans and administration procedures.
  • Write high quality documentation for system standards and operations.
  • Provide training on newly deployed security systems to cross-functional teams, including the development of training documentation, videos, and other tools.
  • Identify limitations and propose improvements for deployed security systems.
  • Work with internal teams to assess and resolve all privacy, network security, and scalability concerns for the systems.
  • Collaborate with installation, deployment, administration and other cross-functional teams to define standards, provide recommendations and guidance on solution deployments, resolve issues, and improve systems' features.
  • Continually re-evaluate the systems to ensure they are still effective and actively assess how new technology developments or changes in the environment may require new solutions.
  • Develop further expertise and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on security engineering needs and requirements for system performance, installations, and sustainment programs and provide recommended improvements per industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Systems Innovation: Research and evaluate security hardware, such as access control boards, intrusion detection systems, and camera management systems (CCUre, Software House, Axis, Bosch, HID etc.)
  • Hardware Testing: Lead testing projects in the lab, including OSDP implementation and support, rack security solutions, and access control hardware/software testing.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain technical guides, such as Admin Configuration Guides and Hardware Upgrade Guides.
  • Environment Management: Support the configuration of CCure 9000 lab environments, including MAS and SAS licensing and architecture.
  • Project Support: Coordinate with technical project managers to gather requirements for future projects and enter tasks into tracking systems like Asana.
  • Product Research: Research and development on new system manufacturers (i.e. access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit television systems).

Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires 10 or more years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of EPMS, BMS, Industrial instrumentation and/or SCADA systems
  • 10+ years of experience with a High School Diploma 8+ years of experience with an Associate's
  • Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer

Preferred Technologies:
  • Allen Bradley PLC, Ignition, Distech, Niagara, Siemens Desigo, Eaton Foreseer, Schneider EPO, Open Systems Interconnection (OSI), Wonderware, Instrumentation calibrator/simulator

Preferred Industry Certifications:
  • CCST certification, Security+ certification
