Company Background: Our client, a major employer in the area, is looking for a Functional ECU and Smart Security Design Engineer to be part of its team in its North American operations.

Description:

Who we're looking for:

  • Client ESV's (Electronic Systems Vehicle) Vehicle Development team is seeking a collaborative engineer to work on Functional ECUs and Smart Security.
  • The primary responsibility of this role is vehicle development for Functional ECUs and Smart Security.
  • Reporting to the Vehicle Development Senior Manager, the person in this role will work to fill Electronic Systems Vehicle's objective of building a NA electronics center of excellence that complements client Global direction.

What you'll be doing:

  • Vehicle application of Functional ECUs (power slide door ECU, power tailgate ECU, Seat ECU, Window ECU, Sunroof ECU, etc.) and Smart Security (Smart ECU, Immobi, antennas, etc.)
  • Plan structure and design of Functional ECUs and Smart Security through target setting, packaging and style feasibility that balances performance, customer needs and cost while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Issue design specifications to suppliers and manage supplier schedule, performance and quality
  • Manage part list and issue internal design documents including engineering change instructions and wiring specifications

Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering (or
  • equivalent)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
  • 5 years or more as an electrical design engineer
  • Must be able to work up to 30% overtime
  • Experience in CATIA
  • Experience in vehicle electronics development
