Job description
Overview
Imagine a career that allows you to give voice to those who feel unheard, literally! As a Speech Language Pathologist in the thriving environment of Raleigh, North Carolina, your impact will soar far beyond treating speech and swallowing challenges. You will have the profound opportunity to unlock potential, instill confidence, and bridge connections - from young children forming their first phrases to older adults striving for renewed self-sufficiency.
This position offers a rich experience serving a diverse population throughout different stages of life in a setting that beautifully integrates outpatient therapy with some inpatient assistance. If your heart lies in pediatric language milestones, navigating adult neurological communication issues, or guiding the elderly through cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you will discover true satisfaction and flexibility here.
Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized measures and observation-driven insights.
- Design customized treatment plans aimed at both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to devise seamless care approaches.
- Educate patients and families to support therapy advancements outside of clinical encounters.
- Assist in delivering occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care during the treatment path.
- Keep accurate, timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Remain updated on the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer engagement.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies across all age groups, with a profound comprehension of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Adept at adjusting therapeutic techniques to embrace diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment complemented by keen problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with electronic health records and documentation standards.
- Attractive compensation based on experience.
- Flexible scheduling options to harmonize work and life while managing diverse caseloads.
- Opportunity to specialize in pediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage available.
- Education reimbursement and support for professional growth.
- A collaborative, team-oriented culture centered on quality care and lifelong learning.
Embrace a Career That Moves You - and Moves with You
In this rewarding role, you will not just deliver speech therapy - you will immerse yourself in a mission focused on restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating moments of joy through the fundamental human experiences of understanding and being understood.
Working alongside colleagues who treat each other as family, you will thrive in an environment that favors collaboration over competition. Each patient presents a unique narrative; we'll rely on your expertise to help articulate their story.
