Job Summary:

Maintain and implement /improve written environmental health and safety management programs in line with legal and regulatory requirements and corporate guidelines


Knowledge and Skills (Education):

  • HS Diploma plus
  • B.S. degree in health and safety, engineering, or related field and or combination of education and related EHS experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in health and safety position in manufacturing environment required with understanding of automated of automated processes, chemical storage and handling, hazardous materials, and waste handling.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office suite.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Work with EHS Regional Lead and Manager to support adherence to critical environmental work instructions
  • Highly organized and efficient with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Provide support for general plant training including new hire orientation as needed
  • Responsible for communication of EHS goals and objectives, as well as EHS management reporting
  • Coordinate train and lead safety and emergency response teams
  • Conduct EHS audits and manage and direct related corrective and preventative actions
  • Create improvements in processes, design, procedures, and programs to minimize risk
