Job description

Position Summary

Provides leadership and motivation to staff at all levels to ensure a consistent and professional corporate image. Under limited supervision, fulfills goals and objectives in the Slot Department.

Meeting all performance standards leads to attracting and retaining a qualified workforce, provides opportunities for qualified team members, and contributes towards the ongoing success of the Pueblo of Sandia today and in the future.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides excellent guest service while maintaining an exceptional perception of the Slot Department.
  2. Performs assigned slot department activities and duties in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed in the Sandia Casino System of Internal Controls.
  3. Schedules, leads and oversees the Slot Floor Attendants throughout assigned shifts.
  4. Acts as host and provides up-to-date information to guests in regard to venues and Marketing promotions.
  5. Effectively deals with routine guest complaints and concerns; investigates and resolves issues with optimal outcome.
  6. Approves and verifies large jackpot pay outs per internal controls and Title 31 reporting regulations.
  7. Obtains W9’s, generates and records W2-G’s, 1042s and MTL transactions.
  8. Ensures adherence to federal cash reporting requirements.
  9. Responsible for hiring and training of slot employees.
  10. Administers disciplinary actions consistent with Policies and Procedures.
  11. Works with Slot Technicians and can take over minor repair duties when necessary.
  12. Assists Slot Attendants as needed; effectively performs minor repairs on slot machines.
  13. Maintains open communications with other departments.
  14. Conducts employee Performance Appraisal and ensures completion in a timely manner.
  15. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia. 

 Additional Responsibilities

  1. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
  2. Provides immediate supervision to front line Team Members.
  3. Sets business parameters and delegates day-to-day tasks to achieve operational objectives. 
  4. Provides guidance, training, counseling, recognition, and ongoing feedback, primarily to non-exempt staff members. 
  5. Delegates and assigns duties to the reporting staff in a clear and concise manner and set expectations for performance excellence.
  6. May support management in the completion of administrative responsibilities. 
  7. Creates an environment of teamwork though strong communication, mentoring, and providing guidance, support, and appreciation for team members contributions.
  1. Maintains a positive attitude and outlook and encourages the team to gain support and create a positive morale. Creates an environment of teamwork, by communicating common goals, and showing appreciation for Team Members contributions and on-going support. Demonstrates relevant experience in the industry or field, often including previous roles in leadership or supervisory positions.

 Key Performance Indicators

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success.  KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

  7. Ability to write reports and maintain slot files and employee Schedules.
  8. Ability to develop and implement training needs for employees and Tribal members.
  9. Knowledge of Casino operations, Tribal, federal and state reporting requirements.
  10. Knowledge of all slot and gaming equipment.
  11. Ability to work under extreme pressure and levels of stress.
  12. Ability to use a 10 key calculator.
  13. Ability to count and verify large sums of money: coin/cash.
  14. Ability to recognize and process jackpot payouts.
  15. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

   Education and Experience

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. Two (2) years’ experience in a slot department.
  3. Six (6) months supervisory experience.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License.
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
