Job description

Position Summary

The function of the Assistant Manager is to serve customers in every aspect, maintain store stock and appearance, and complete sales using a point-of-sales system to sustain cash and inventory levels. A Team Lead demonstrates outstanding customer service and takes pride in the role they play on our team and on campus. A mail Specialist is given additional responsibility to process and deliver mail and packages to campus. We’re seeking a candidate who excels in a fast-paced setting, handling high volumes of packages and consistently meeting daily targets. Someone who likes variety, building relationships, and being outside in all seasons. A successful mail Specialist is someone who understands processes, wants to follow the process, and is innovative to make the process even better.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Engage and support students, parents, faculty, and staff to promote sales, solve problems, and build rapport
  • Receive, sort, track, and manage parcels and mail using the Slingshot mail platform
  • Deliver mail and packages across campus with or without the use of a vehicle
  • Operate point-of-sale systems and process cash and credit card transactions
  • Answer telephone calls, return voicemails, and assist with online order fulfillment and shipping
  • Assist with receiving inventory, locating textbooks and merchandise, and print production as needed
  • Ship textbooks and general merchandise
  • Fulfill textbook and merchandise orders accurately and efficiently
  • Complete general clerical duties, including filing paperwork and preparing basic Word, Google, Excel, and spreadsheet documents
  • Support the Store Manager with daily operations and assume leadership responsibilities in the manager’s absence
  • Maintain store appearance, stock levels, and operational organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The store teams are the link between Slingshot and the campus. While we are a “third party” entity, our goal is to engage the campus from within and we strive to integrate the Slingshot culture within our campus partners.
