Job description

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a detail-oriented **IT Inventory Specialist** to support inventory control, asset tracking, receiving, storage, distribution, and recordkeeping activities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, updating Excel spreadsheets, supporting physical inventory counts, and ensuring equipment, supplies, and organizational assets are properly tracked and accounted for.
The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory management, warehouse operations, data entry, Microsoft Office, and asset tracking. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work onsite daily in Boise, Idaho.
**Key Responsibilities**
Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment, supplies, materials, and organizational assets.
Receive, inspect, verify, and document incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness.
Process inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, distributions, and disposals.
Update Excel spreadsheets and inventory tracking records on a regular basis.
Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to support easy access, proper labeling, and accountability.
Assist with warehouse activities, including stocking, labeling, packaging, shipping, and equipment handling.
Conduct cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory audits.
Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, or damaged items.
Support asset tracking, recordkeeping, and inventory reconciliation activities.
Coordinate with internal teams regarding inventory needs, deliveries, and asset movement.
Follow workplace safety practices related to lifting, moving, storing, and handling inventory.
Maintain professional communication with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, organization, and process efficiency.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications**
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
Ability to work onsite daily in Boise, Idaho.
Ability to travel locally up to 20% within the Boise / Treasure Valley area.
Ability to lift, move, and organize inventory items up to 50 lbs.
**Preferred Qualifications**
1 year of experience with inventory management principles, practices, and procedures.
1 year of experience with warehouse operations, receiving, storage, and distribution.
Experience maintaining Excel sheets, logs, or inventory records.
Knowledge of inventory control systems, asset tracking methods, and recordkeeping practices.
