Job description

The Lung and Sleep Center is seeking dependable, patient focused individuals to join our sleep lab. 

Medical Assistant/Ancillary Technician

  • Travel between clinics and cross training will be required 
  • Greet patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures
  • Perform pulmonary function tests, nebulizer treatments, pulmonary stress tests and allergy testing following training and established protocols
  • Schedule procedures, treatments, and follow-up care
  • Accurately document all patient interactions, procedures, and results in the EMR (eClinicalWorks) in a timely manner
  • Process referrals and coordinate care as needed
  • Send orders, prescriptions, and messages as directed by providers
  • Demonstrate understanding of medical terminology, diagnoses, and CPT coding
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
  • Must be comfortable providing support in other clinic areas based on operational need as directed by management:
    • Front desk check-in
    • Patient outreach
    • Answering phones & managing electronic patient communication
    • Patient rooming
    • Administrative tasks
    • Cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment and general clinic environment
    • Providing general support to providers & office team

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with EMR systems, eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment

Schedule and Compensation

  • Full-time position, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Friday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Compensation based on experience, generally ranging from $16.50 to $21 per hour based on experience

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move medical equipment as needed
