Description
Part Time Position (20-25hrs/week)
Between 3:00PM and 9:30PM w/Rotating Weekends
JOB SUMMARY
The Front Desk Attendant provides front-line customer service to all members and guests, and is responsible for greeting customers, answering questions, providing directions, and conducting point of sale operations in efforts to meet all front level membership and customer needs.
Job Specific:
  1. Greet every member and customer that approaches the desk. (EF)
  2. Work quickly and efficiently to meet the needs of the member at the desk. (EF)
  3. Maintain awareness of the lobby area at all times - intervene as necessary with members or guests who don't check in at the desk. (EF)
  4. Control facility access, requiring member and guest identification and check in procedures. (EF)
  5. Answer phones with a smile, direct calls to the appropriate location and take messages appropriately. (EF)
  6. Schedule fitness and massage appointments as needed. (EF)
  7. Conduct point of sale transactions for pro shop, massage, nutrition coaching, and personal training purchases. (EF)
  8. Sign up prospects for memberships and ensure adequate knowledge of the facility, services and opportunities for members. (EF)
  9. Receive emergency calls from within the facility and initiate the proper "code" procedures per policy. (EF)
  10. Perform facility opening and closing procedures. (EF)
  11. Cross train to be able to assist in Kids in Motion as per supervisor request and need. (EF)
  12. Assist members with membership changes. (EF)
  13. Log lost and found items that are brought to the front desk. (EF)
  14. Utilize the membership management software in a variety of capacities to ensure proper data collection and entry. (EF)
  15. Maintain active knowledge of HealthPlex services and programs to be able to accurately answer questions. (EF)

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Some college course credit or associate degree.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Some customer service, cash handling, public relations experience.
Preferred: 1+ year of customer service and public relations experience.
Special Skills and Abilities:
Required: Able to communicate effectively with a variety of people. Able to speak clearly on the telephone and in person. Able to multitask. Able to deal with difficult customers and maintain composure. Able to be productive during slow periods.
Preferred:Able to sell and promote products and services to customers and prospects.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Required: BLS training certificate upon hire OR within 90 days of hire; First Aid and Basic Water Safety certification upon hire OR within 90 days of hire (offered internally).
