Job description

Summary/Objective

The Skip Representative will use applicable tools and resources to identify the location of client collateral and work collaboratively with repossession vendors to secure the clientโ€™s collateral in accordance client Service Level Agreements (SLAs.) The Skip Representative is responsible for skip tracing accounts within the scope of applicable laws and regulations in a manner that denotes professionalism and integrity.

Essential Functions

  • Use all internet databases and phone tools to locate customers and/or collateral
  • Build successful relationships with contractors and clients to service accounts
  • Communicate verbally and systematically with clients and/or contractors to complete assigned tasks
  • Provide updates regarding account status and service levels; recommend changes if needed
  • Obtain new leads on customers / collateral locations
  • Obtain any necessary documentation or guidance to pursue the collateral/customers (i.e. Credit Applications/Reference sheets and prior communication with their customer)
  • Ensure all information/leads provided are being acknowledged and reacted to
  • Provide frequent updates to summarize progress made throughout the lifecycle of orders until concluded
  • Conduct initial review of information provided by clients to ensure accuracy
  • Skip Tracing of customers and/or other parties to Identify the best known address to locate the clientโ€™s collateral or customer
  • Determine if the clientโ€™s customer has filed Bankruptcy, Active Duty Military, current owner/registrant of the vehicle
  • Initiate contact with clientโ€™s customers, references, relatives and associates
  • Schedule and assign orders to appropriate contractors to ensure expectations are met and information provided is understood

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year in either auto-finance, collections, banking, insurance or call center experience required

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are variable and based on business need. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Requirements

This position is indoors. Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period. May be asked to lift approximately 25 lbs. Exposure to moderate noise and light, i.e. business office with computers, phone, printers, light foot traffic.
