Financial Aid Coordinator (CS27-022)

What You Will Do
  • Process financial aid for Accelerated Online Programs (AOP), including the School of Business, School of Education, and undergraduate programs, by administering federal Direct Loans to ensure eligible students receive accurate and timely financial aid packages.
  • Create and submit loan applications to the appropriate agencies, download and process disbursement reports, and apply funds to student accounts.
  • Monitor, research, and resolve loan, grant, and NSLDS errors and discrepancies, making necessary corrections to maintain compliance with federal regulations.
  • Resolve overawards by adjusting student budgets and returning excess loan funds to the appropriate agencies when required.
  • Process student-requested loan revisions, manually award additional unsubsidized loans for students with denied parent PLUS Loans, and package summer financial aid while repackaging student aid as needed throughout the academic year.
  • Assist with testing Banner financial aid packaging software and processes, process outside scholarship checks, and ensure the accurate and efficient administration of financial aid programs.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
1. Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:
A. College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Work experience coordinating office, business, or customer service/relations activities.
2. One (1) year (12 months) of higher education, student services, or closely related experience.
Familiarity with financial aid. Excellent organizational, management, analytical, interpersonal skills. General knowledge of state and federal financial aid programs and specialized knowledge about module based programs. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks with multiple deadlines. Good command of English language - oral and written. Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office Products. Experience with Banner.
