What You Will Do
  • Assist in the supervision of children, coordinate and perform duties in the food service area.
  • Support staff in the implementation of learning experiences provided to the children, their physical needs, as well as, care and maintenance of center environment.
  • Ensure food served to children is received, stored, served and disposed of in a hygienic manner.
  • Prepare food for use by the children during meal and snack time.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Possession of credentials required by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for employment as a Child Care Assistant
Preferred Qualifications
-Food Service Sanitation Certification
Physical examination as required by Illinois Child Care Act for employees in child care facilities. Hepatitis A immunization and TB screening is required.
