Your role at Clorox:
As the HSE Manager at our Kingsford manufacturing plant in Springfield, OR, you will play a critical role in driving a sustainable Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy while helping build a culture focused on operational excellence and Zero Loss principles.
As a key member of the plant leadership team, you will influence and drive the development, implementation, and long-term sustainability of comprehensive HSE programs while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Clorox standards. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both plant performance and employee safety.
This role is fully onsite in Springfield, OR.
In this role, you will:
Leadership & Culture Development
  • Lead and support the development and execution of the plant HSE strategy.
  • Drive safety improvement initiatives focused on reducing at-risk behaviors and unsafe conditions.
  • Champion a Zero Loss safety culture by influencing mindsets, behaviors, and capabilities across the site.
  • Increase hazard awareness and strengthen risk identification throughout the plant
  • Lead HSE teams and committees while coaching and mentoring leaders, technical teams, and frontline employees.
  • Drive adoption of best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead HSE education and awareness through training, communication, and development programs.
  • Partner closely with Corporate HSE teams to ensure alignment with Clorox standards and support site-specific needs.
  • Deliver world-class HSE performance through proactive risk management and prevention activities.

HSE Systems, Compliance & Technical Support
  • Establish and monitor metrics that support HSE performance goals.
  • Conduct site assessments and proactively identify risks or compliance gaps.
  • Develop and execute strategies supporting Zero Waste to Landfill initiatives.
  • Manage site HSE systems and provide support to ensure effective adoption and utilization.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis efforts to eliminate recurring risks.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and Clorox standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for safety and environmental regulatory agencies and inspections.
  • Complete environmental reporting requirements accurately and on time.
  • Support workers' compensation processes in partnership with HR and plant teams.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure capital projects support key HSE priorities.
  • Provide HSE guidance as new technologies, equipment, and process improvements are introduced.
  • Lead initiatives supporting sustainability and environmental goals.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience. Candidates without a degree may be considered if they have a combination of comparable work experience and education.
  • Experience with environmental regulatory management.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOL, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of combustible dust, hot work, and hazardous energy control practices.
  • Experience leading complex Root Cause Analysis investigations.
  • Experience with manufacturing improvement methodologies including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, SMED, Autonomous Maintenance, and Focused Improvement.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation capability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading HSE activities related to capital projects.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED trainer certification.
  • Experience supporting or leading workers' compensation programs.

-Zone A: $88,700 - $165,900
-Zone B: $81,300 - $152,100
-Zone C: $73,900 - $138,300
