JBAndrews is currently partnering with a leading global warehouse automation and intralogistics organization to identify experienced Site Operations Managers for automated distribution facilities.


This is a senior, site-based leadership position with overall responsibility for the performance of a sizeable 24/7 maintenance operation, including people leadership, customer management, operational performance, budgeting, safety and continuous improvement.


The successful individual will lead a multi-shift technical maintenance organization supporting highly automated material handling systems and will act as the senior interface between the automation provider and its customer.


The Role

  • Lead and develop a sizeable, multi-shift maintenance and engineering organization operating within a 24/7 automated distribution environment.
  • Take overall responsibility for site performance, ensuring the team consistently delivers against agreed service levels and operational targets.
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with the customer, managing expectations and acting as the senior point of contact for operational and service-related matters.
  • Lead, coach and develop the site's management and technical teams, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of maintenance budgets, resource planning and associated commercial activities.
  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs across sophisticated warehouse automation and material handling systems.
  • Ensure effective reporting of operational, commercial and technical performance.
  • Work closely with both customer and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and overall service.
  • Champion Health & Safety standards across the operation.
  • Support recruitment, performance management, training and succession planning across the site organization.


The Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience within operations, maintenance, logistics, supply chain, 3PL, distribution or a comparable industrial environment.
  • Previous leadership experience at Operations Manager, Site Operations Manager, General Manager, Maintenance Operations Manager or equivalent level.
  • A strong track record of leading sizeable teams within demanding, high-throughput operations.
  • Excellent people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.
  • Strong customer-management skills and the confidence to manage challenging stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience managing operational budgets and understanding the commercial implications of site-level decisions.
  • Experience working within 24/7, multi-shift operations.
  • A resilient, pragmatic and hands-on leadership style.
  • Exposure to warehouse automation, material handling or highly automated manufacturing environments would be advantageous, but strong operational leadership is the priority.
  • An Engineering qualification, Lean/Six Sigma experience or military leadership background would also be advantageous.
