Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
  • Responsible for all activities for quality operations of the Silkscreen Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Expose (burn in) image onto screen; stretch and secure the screen to the frame.
  • Use proper techniques to mix ink, apply ink to product; clean screens, product, and work area; reclaim screens, and rework product.
  • Operate pad printer and digital imaging unit.
  • Control the inventory of work in process in and out of the silkscreen area, supplies, and fixtures.
  • Able to work flexible hours when required based on demand for production or prototypes.
  • Be able to meet the visual acuity requirements (shades of color and color blindness).
  • Be able to meet the requirements of the vision screen test (eyechart).
  • Assist in other areas of production as needed.
  • Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer experience preferred.
  • Previous silkscreen experience preferred.

SKILLS:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Ability to follow work instructions.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to do graphics modification and manipulation.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to see print in various sizes and formats. May be required to climb stairs. Must regularly be able to pull and push up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment: Work performed in a production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time (for Maintenance & Receiving only). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, in some areas.
