Job description

Job Description:
The Print and Sign Services Coordinator manages the efficient routing of jobs to the print center, sign shop, or design team, ensuring that customer deadlines are met with precision. This role involves overseeing quality assurance for all printed materials, providing accurate pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of products. The Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in the planning, direction, and routing of both small and large-scale print and design projects. The position entails comprehensive management of various printed materials, including forms, pamphlets, reports, posters, flyers, and marketing materials, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to deadlines.
30 hours per week Tuesday through Saturday 10:30-am to 4:00pm
2 years of experience is preferred for this position.

Essential Functions
Press Operations
  • Digital Press Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust cut sheet and web fed digital presses (inkjet and toner), including job setup, media loading, queue management, and adherence to job ticket specifications for color, quantity, and finishing requirements.
  • In Process Quality Control & Calibration: Perform continuous quality checks (color accuracy, density, registration, artifacts) and execute calibration, profiling, and output adjustments to ensure consistent, error free production that meets design intent and quality standards.
  • Press Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Conduct routine press maintenance, cleaning, and first level troubleshooting of print, mechanical, or software issues; escalate complex failures and coordinate with service support as needed.

Finishing/Bindery
  • Finishing Equipment Operation & Programming: Operate and program finishing and bindery equipment-including cutters, cutlines, booklet makers, folders, laminators, collators, and card cutters-to meet trim, fold, binding, and alignment specifications.
  • Finished Goods Inspection & Accuracy: Inspect completed work for mechanical accuracy, quality compliance, and error-free output prior to release, ensuring finished products meet customer and production standards.
  • Bindery Workflow, Maintenance & Inventory: Manage multiple finishing tasks concurrently, perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance, maintain supply inventories, complete required operational reporting, and comply with safety and housekeeping standards.

  • Job Management & Deadline Adherence: Review job tickets, organize materials, route work efficiently through press and finishing workflows, and maintain a steady production pace to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Operational Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, job tracking, downtime logs, spoilage reporting, and required documentation related to print jobs, equipment usage, and operational performance.
  • Continuous Improvement, Safety & Collaboration: Follow all safety procedures, maintain clean and organized work areas, collaborate cross-functionally with design, solutions, finishing, and fulfillment teams, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise working with printers and finishing equipment
  • Knowledge of pre-flight requirements for printing

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of print production experience

Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors require the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
