Siemens Smart Infrastructure - Buildings is seeking a highly accomplished Area General Manager to lead our New York City Area, the largest and most complex branch within our U.S. portfolio. This role represents a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a flagship business - spanning building automation, fire & life safety, and security systems - one that sets the performance, cultural, and operational benchmark for the rest of the organization. Based in our Morristown, NJ office, the Area General Manager holds end-to-end responsibility for strategy, sales, operations, financial performance, and talent leadership across one of the most dynamic and demanding commercial building markets in the world.
As Area General Manager, you will operate as a senior enterprise leader - balancing near-term execution with long-term growth, leading through influence in a matrixed environment, and maintaining direct executive-level relationships with the region's most important customers and industry stakeholders. You will be accountable for translating Siemens Smart Infrastructure strategy into local market success, driving profitable growth, developing top leadership talent, and ensuring operational excellence, safety, and compliance at scale. This role is ideal for a proven business leader who combines commercial acuity, people leadership, and customer credibility - and who thrives in environments where expectations are high and impact is visible.
As an Area General Manager, you will:
  • Own full P&L and operational performance for the New York City Area, delivering against aggressive growth, profitability, cash flow, and asset management targets through disciplined forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Lead and deploy strategy at scale by translating Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Region priorities into executable branch-level plans, including Business Target Agreements, growth initiatives, and standardized sales and operational excellence programs.
  • Drive customer and market leadership by maintaining personal, executive-level relationships with major customers, developers, contractors, consultants, and local authorities, while representing Siemens with market influencers and industry thought leaders across the region.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams by overseeing workforce planning, talent deployment, engagement, safety, retention, and leadership development-ensuring strong succession pipelines and a culture of accountability, inclusion, and performance excellence.
  • Enable profitable growth through collaboration by fostering team-selling strategies, partnering across Siemens divisions, and leveraging central resources (Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal, EHS, Compliance, Business Excellence) to deliver integrated customer solutions.
  • Ensure operational rigor and compliance by directing execution of workflow standards, quality and productivity initiatives, safety programs, and regulatory requirements, while serving as the local steward of Siemens' ethics, compliance, and employer brand.

You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years experience within the commercial building automation controls, fire/life safety, or security systems industry in sales management and/or operations management
  • Experience as a P&L manager with demonstrated results in delivering performance to budget
  • Demonstrated team building, presentation, and communication skills
  • High school diploma
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations to participate in the required Siemens vehicle reimbursement program (FAVR)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience within the commercial Fire Alarm/Life Safety and/or Security Systems industries
  • Prior experience in Operations and Sales, Solutions and Service, and Energy service

The pay range for this position is $205,000 - $352,000 annually with a target incentive of 30% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
