Job description

Description:
The role of the "Industrial Millwright I" position requires the mechanical skills to inspect, install, repair and adjust manufacturing equipment within the facility. It also requires basic knowledge of fluid power and pneumatic equipment. This includes hydraulic systems, plant utilities such as high volume water pumps and air compressors. Should have good communication and problem solving skills. The position is also responsible for lubricating and maintaining the BMP manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. High School diploma or equivalent.
1.2. Technical Certification in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance preferred but not required if OJT and sufficient work history experience can be validated. Pre-employment testing may be required.
1.3. 1 to 3 years Industrial Mechanical Maintenance experience with equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
1.4. Above average troubleshooting skills are required as well as the ability to read mechanical drawings and basic schematics on pneumatic and fluid power systems.
1.5. Basic understanding of simple electrical circuits as it relates to mechanical equipment and sequencing of mechanical components.
1.6. General overall knowledge of Industrial manufacturing processes and procedures and the capability to learn new processes and procedures.
1.7. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, Power Point)
1.8. Ability to read documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure/equipment manuals as well as Mechanical schematic drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to communicate effectively with co-workers.
1.9. Spanish as a second language would be beneficial but not required.
1.1. Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Maintain a good working relationship with Operating personnel in order to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
2.2. Responsible for the mechanical maintenance of machinery and equipment within the facility.
2.3. Analytically troubleshoot and resolve mechanical malfunctions back to OEM Specifications.
2.4. Install and perform proper alignment of equipment including but not limited to gear reducers, motors, couplings, conveyor components etc.

2.5. Routinely check the performance of mechanical equipment and perform assigned PM's.
2.6. Properly maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and processing Work Orders.
2.7. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
2.8. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
2.9. Assist and participate in continuous improvement programs.
2.10. Filtration and contamination control.
3. Activities:
3.1. Attend and participate in Line-Out meetings to communicate daily activities between incoming and outgoing Maintenance shift crews.
3.2. Make necessary equipment repairs during the shift to maintain equipment availability for production.
3.3. Complete Maintenance shift reports and corresponding paper work.
3.4. Participate in production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers as it pertains to equipment reliability and availability.
3.5. Perform required daily; weekly, quarterly and annual check sheets as established by the Maintenance Department and OEM suppliers.
3.6. Prepares reports, forms, records and related paperwork for assigned area.
3.7. This position may require operating a Forklift, Overhead Crane, Manlift or Carry Deck.
3.8. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.9. Other duties as assigned.
4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop an operation if he deems it necessary, for reasons of imminent safety and/or possible equipment damage. However, he/she must notify the Operations Supervisor on duty and follow the established notification procedure if the interruption is for an extended time period.
